Department Summary:
Reporting directly to the Director, Inclusion & Diversity (I&D), this position plays an integral role in cultivating an inclusive environment at MITRE. The role will be responsible for overseeing and leading our internal communities including our business resource groups, site I&D committees, and other affinity groups. The incumbent will collaborate and partner with colleagues within the I&D function and across the division’s other functions: Corporate Social Innovation, Corporate Accessibility, and Corporate Sustainability for efficiency, seamless integration, and effectiveness. The role will also work closely with other areas across the enterprise for promoting I&D awareness and providing opportunities to reinforce, apply, and practice learned skills. The incumbent will play a critical role in being a trusted thought leader, business strategist, influencer, and cultural change leader.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Provides governance and management of MITRE’s internal communities to ensure they align to the I&D framework and key lines of effort for strategic impact.
Identifies, develops, and project manages multicultural marketing and communications partnerships that align with our internal communities to expand our brand awareness.
Assists the I&D team with developing strategic objectives and desired outcomes on an annual basis.
Partners and collaborates with multiple stakeholders at various levels across the enterprise to strengthen MITRE’s I&D foundation and expand inclusive work environment models that reinforce inclusive behaviors.
Serves as an inspiring I&D leader internally and externally for MITRE.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
5+ years of relevant work experience in Human Resources, Diversity, Community Relations, Multicultural Marketing, and/or Brand Management
Experience in leading, developing, and managing corporate employee resource groups and committees
Solid understanding and awareness of a broad range of I&D concepts, issues, and initiatives within a corporate setting to facilitate I&D engagement
Excellent relationship management skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with senior management
Advanced project leadership and management skills, including the ability to use data to build consensus, get strategic partners on board, and to demonstrate results
Exceptional interpersonal skills, taking the time to understand the needs of the business and the external landscape with continuous learning
Ability to influence others with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site.
