Description We are looking for a Data Security Analyst to join our team in the insurance industry, based in McKinney, Texas. This role entails executing data governance risk analysis initiatives across the organization and providing insights to business partners. This contract to permanent employment opportunity is an integral part of our team, ensuring we maintain an acceptable level of data risk in support of our strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze data stores across the enterprise using data analysis tools and processes to identify areas of risk and its severity.

• Apply policies and best practices to data analyses to identify executable actions that will reduce risk but maintain or increase business performance.

• Understand the core functions and purpose of a Data Governance program and be able to articulate them.

• Provide insightful data risk management decisions to business partners.

• Identify themes within business functions related to data use and data management that could help achieve targeted residual risk.

• Define, compile, and report on program metrics that effectively measure program maturity.

• Maintain strong working relationships with individuals and groups involved in managing information risks across the organization.

• Coach entry level analysts and assist them in their responsibilities.

• Conduct other duties as assigned.

• Leverage your skills in 'Assess Risk', 'Conduct Risk Assessments', 'Business risk assessment' to perform all the above tasks effectively. Requirements • Must possess strong skills in assessing risk and conducting risk assessments in an insurance sector.

• Proven ability to identify, analyze, and evaluate business risks.

• Excellent understanding of data security principles and best practices.

• Strong analytical skills to interpret and translate complex data into actionable strategies.

• Proficient in using data analysis tools and software.

• Ability to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey security risks and strategies to non-technical stakeholders.

• Must have a keen eye for detail and high level of accuracy.

• Ability to function effectively in a team and independently.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

• Must have a solid understanding of the insurance industry and its regulatory environment.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field such as information technology, cybersecurity or business administration.

• Relevant detail oriented certifications in data security or risk management would be advantageous.
