Job Summary:

Trane Technologies is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer in Waco, TX. The Supplier Quality Engineer will effectively administer the Quality Management System in accordance with current procedures and work instructions, and will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Supply Chain to meet customer expectations.

Where is the work:

This position has been designated as On-Site.

Responsibilities:

  • Support operations when quality issues arise to maintain production

  • Manage the rejection process for manufactured products and supplied components

  • Partner with Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to investigate root causes and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues. Leverage common problem-solving tools (9 Step, 8D, A3)

  • Support completion of Supplier Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for NPD/Engineered projects

  • Determine and execute continuous improvement opportunities

  • Identify improvement opportunities for respective suppliers and develop improvement plans in conjunction with engineering and key suppliers.

  • Ownership, monitoring, support, and coordination of corrective actions, and deviations. Take a leading role in defect analysis and continuous improvement efforts with a goal of zero defects.

  • Implement process improvements by utilizing quality methodologies and tools (9 Step, 8D, A3, Six-sigma, 5S, Lean, SPC, CpK, and TPS) to enhance internal and external performance. Utilizing PFMEA/CP as a live document.

  • Work well with colleagues and produce results within a fast-paced and high-pressure atmosphere. Combine strong attention to detail with an orientation towards results/execution.

  • Create, maintain, and report daily, weekly and/or monthly KPIs

  • Maintain KRONOS Pay System by reviewing, editing, and approving employee timecards

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required

  • 2+ years Engineering experience in an assembly manufacturing environment, including blueprint reading

  • Skilled in investigation of root causes and driving implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues.

  • Knowledge of various quality system methodologies; Lean, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP, APQP, etc. is a must

  • Experience using common problem solving tools, preferably 9 Step, 8D, A3

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products

  • Experience in APQP and NPD preferred

  • Ability to organize tasks and manage time to complete multiple assignments simultaneously.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels within business and with suppliers, etc.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $110,000

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
