Position will be responsible to set up and operate a variety of production machinery in a cell to produce parts and products within specifications and quality standards. Essential To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative to the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Obtain tools, gauges, and fixtures, set up and make adjustments to perform a normal range of operations on standard, automatic, tape, or computer numerically controlled production machines. Adjust and align holding fixtures, block and secure unusual shaped parts into holding device, and select speeds and feeds according to material characteristics and finish requirements. Perform first piece inspection. Load parts into jigs, fixtures, or between centers, load raw material into machine feed system or holding devices. Drill, tap, bore, counterbore, turn, face, thread, chamfer, mill, ream, slot, and similar operations to close tolerances. Check tools for damage, evaluate and report needed repairs, replace broken and dull tools, and make required adjustments. Periodically inspect parts to maintain specifications and quality standards. Operate several machines simultaneously as directed. 9. Monitor and maintain all mini and kitted tool cribs. Notify supervisor of unusual equipment or operating problems.
