Description An exciting opportunity exists at Barnes for an Accountant I. The ideal candidate is responsible for Providing month-end closing support, including journal entries, account reconciliation and reporting. Sales analysis to support business growth and transactional support for customer invoicing, banking and accounts payable. Core Responsibilities: Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and facilitates clearing un-reconciled items accurately and timely. Assist with monthly financial closing and the provision of all related financial reporting for the division in accordance with GAAP, including Journal Entries, Prepaid and Accrual schedules. Maintenance of the division's general ledger chart of accounts and Oracle mapping. Ensures accuracy of the data feeding the financial statements, responsible for extracts to Oracle. Prepares Sales and Use Tax returns. Maintain and Prepares monthly Sales Commission analysis and tracking. Coordinates all documentation requested by Internal Audit, PwC, and any other auditing body. Prepares daily Sales & Orders Analysis and commentary. Provide D&B reports to assist Assistant Controller in setting customer credit terms/limits, and releasing orders on hold. Issues Intercompany Invoices, reviews intercompany statements from partner entities. Processes A/R and A/P transactions, as necessary, for our Mexico Distribution warehouse. Review inventory adjustments. Prepares various operational metrics reporting. Understands key business fundamentals and uses this knowledge to help team members to drive financial health and improve operating efficiencies and overall profitability goals. Process customer payments and bank deposits Check and ACH (Daily). ERP Customer/Vendor Master Data Maintenance (New set-up and changes). Reconciliation and resolution of complex customer as well as vendor accounts (A/R, A/P) Support finance leadership with various accounting functions, as directed.
