Job Description:

This mid-level Program Management position will support the newly-created sensors sustainment portfolio with opportunities for future production programs. Will be responsible for overseeing projects with a focus on operational excellence and strategic project management. Involves regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, to explain, interpret, and improve operational processes and practices. Will be responsible for customer, schedule, finance, and cost management on assigned programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage all phases of assigned programs, ensuring they meet operational excellence standards and align with strategic objectives. Includes overseeing the execution of project plans, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership. Present project updates, explain complex operational processes, and provide recommendations for improvements.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are met and that projects are aligned with their expectations. Address customer concerns and manage customer satisfaction throughout the program lifecycle.

  • Oversee the financial aspects of assigned programs, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting. Ensure that programs stay within budget and meet financial targets.

  • Monitor and control project costs to ensure they align with budgetary constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality.

  • Support the negotiation of contracts and any necessary contract changes. Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and that projects adhere to agreed-upon terms.

  • Regularly assess the technical performance of programs, ensuring that all requirements are met. Address any challenges that arise.

  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the portfolio. Develop and implement opportunities using change management best practices.

  • Supports preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.

  • Mentor and assist junior PMs with basic PM skill development

  • Prepare and present regular project reports to leadership, including progress updates, financial performance, and risk assessments. Ensure all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

  • Collaborate with various departments, including engineering, manufacturing, and finance, to ensure that all aspects of the program are aligned and that project goals are achieved.

  • Provide guidance and direction to project teams, ensuring that team members understand their roles and responsibilities. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Portfolio Manager.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field, business, or a related discipline that demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities, with a minimum of 4 years of technical project/program management or manufacturing operations management experience . Graduate Degree in a technical field, business, or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of technical project/program management or manufacturing operations management experience . In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with DoD contracts

  • Solid business acumen

  • General understanding of engineering principles

  • Experience in MRO/sustainment environment

  • Experience with an Integrated Project Team (IPT) structure, Risk and Opportunity Management, finance and cost management, and team leadership

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient/Expert in MS Project (and/or Smartsheet), Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • MBA or Engineering Management a plus

  • PMP or CAPM certification a plus
