POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Controls Engineer to join our team. This role involves working closely with our Equipment Designers to develop custom automation solutions for production operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming, sensor integration, motor control, wiring, and electrical schematics, along with a passion for creating innovative designs and solutions. The Senior Controls Engineer will also be responsible for troubleshooting existing equipment, including those developed externally, and ensuring seamless integration into our operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Design, develop, and implement control systems for custom automation equipment, working closely with Equipment Designers. Program and configure PLCs, microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino), and other automation devices to meet specific production requirements. Develop and interpret electrical schematics for control systems, including wiring, circuit design, and component selection. Integrate sensors, motors, and other hardware components to create efficient and reliable automation systems. Innovate new designs and solutions to improve existing processes or create new automated systems. Perform software validation and ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality requirements. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing equipment, including systems developed by third parties, to optimize performance and reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and equipment designers, to ensure seamless integration of control systems. Stay current with emerging technologies in control systems, electronics, and mechatronics to enhance automation capabilities. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior engineers and technicians as needed. Develop and maintain documentation, including specifications, validation protocols, and maintenance procedures.
