Position Purpose:
The MR Technologist maintains all standards of the Magnetic Resonance (MR) Area as established by the Department of Radiology
What you will Do:
Accurately identifies and transports patients to and from MR
Prepares patient and scan room for MR procedures. Completes required consents and/or checklists/forms. Performs venipuncture on patients from adolescent to geriatric patients.
Assists Mercy One Radiology office with scheduling of MR exams. Reviews MR protocol with Radiologist. Responds to telephone inquiries and provides accurate information to customers of all age groups.
Ensures the safety of all persons entering MR. Instructs others on MR safety policies and procedures.
Performs Radiology Information System (RIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) functions. Ensures proper billing for MR exams
Completes MR-related clerical functions and PACS functions.Saves, verifies, and performs all image manipulation on PACS for each patient scanned. Sends images to StatRad and verifies patient information during designated hours.
Hours/Schedule:
Full Time, (36) hours/week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be credentialed in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Must be credentialed in Magnetic Resonance by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or must be board eligible. Must complete boards within 12 months of hire date.
Must have demonstrated competencies as a Diagnostic Radiographer. Previous MR or CT experience preferred
Must be able to read, write and/or speak English.
Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa guidelines
