GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY:

The evolution of the Newell Brands Supply Chain includes a focus on driving productivity through building capability in people, processes, and technology. Planning, Engagement, Achievement & Knowledge (PEAK), Newell’s branded improvement strategy, is fundamental to that goal. The Peak & Productivity Manager will facilitate and work directly with site leadership to deliver CI strategy and capability deployment in the sites to support business imperatives through the effective deployment of PEAK systems, capabilities, and methodology. Achieve objective performance improvement results through capability building, coaching, and deployment of Lean Sigma and TPM tools and systems. Drive and track productivity goals annually and budget upcoming years.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the development of Business Unit Master Plan to deliver long and short-term business objectives through system deployment and capability building focused on alignment, the elimination of waste, and 100% employee engagement.

  • Work with site Leadership to establish monthly, quarterly, and annual deployment strategies, plans, and tactics for the sites.

  • Work with the sites to develop capability to own identification, facilitation, and tracking of functional cost improvement projects

  • Align CI initiatives with the Overarching Strategic Plan and PEAK implementation strategy

  • Coach and facilitate the leadership team through the integration of CI methods and strategy

  • Build capability and deploy systems to optimize value streams and work processes

  • Implement corporate loss analysis, idea generation, & promotion process.

  • Lead the site to achieve the annual goal of Productivity at the facility.

  • Lead productivity governance and program management with monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Support in the development of MFG productivity budgets at the site level.

  • Provide analytics and business intelligence to support project selection, root-cause analysis, project validation, etc.

  • Ensure that objectives are passed down and understood

  • Link pillar/PACS work groups to prioritized business opportunities

  • Teach & support the teams in using problem solving & tracking tools

  • Perform regular & periodic validation of each project / initiative with each function or operating unit.

  • Network with other global and organizational leaders & to learn and share “Best Practices”.

  • Provide guidance and alignment in support of the global PEAK Agenda

  • Build the capability of the key internal resources needed to deliver on critical initiatives

  • Foster key relationships with various functions

  • Provide analytics and business intelligence to support project selection, root-cause analysis, project validation, etc.

  • Ensure that PEAK work is impacting both results, and the culture change including - Capability building for setting, tracking and problem-solving measure, Total employee involvement, Linkages of individual and team activities to losses and the business need

  • Successful implementation of large capital projects on time and on budget.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field required.

  • A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in Central Supply Chain role with strategic and tactical experience with a continuous improvement methodology (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma) with a focus on education and training.

  • Functional or Operational Leadership Experience in a continuous improvement methodology (TPM, Lean, Six Sigma) environment – multi-function and/or site (5 years)

  • Six Sigma, Lean, TPM, or similar certification preferred.

  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to organize and manage projects with positive results.

  • Ability to build trust and interact with all levels of the organization, up to and including senior management.

  • Creative, reliable, organized, adaptable, flexible, innovative, and a self-starter.

  • Focus on adding value to a fast and performance driven business.

  • Ability to motivate, develop people, communicate, listen and perceive.

  • Willingness to accept change and ability to lead change.

  • Professionally challenges current and/or traditional ways of thinking and lead new ways/approaches.

  • Communication skills (verbal and written).

  • Computer literate (including mastery of all Microsoft Office Suite).

  • Proven Project Management leadership and expertise

  • Good problem resolution skills, time management, prioritization and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a high volume, high output environment.
