Digital Marketing Communications Specialist - Website, Email, and SMS Marketing

Position Overview:

Smith & Wesson is looking for a Digital Marketing Communications Specialist. This role will have the opportunity to: manage our website; strategize brand marketing and e-commerce initiatives across email & SMS avenues; and help build a sustainable infrastructure for our digital marketing practices. The Digital Marketing Communications Specialist will be part of the Brand Marketing team, and work closely with many functions within the company including but not limited to, Sales, Product, Operations, Engineering, and other Brand marketing teams.

The role is based in our Maryville, TN office, and reports to the Digital Marketing Manager. The position is 100% in-office/non-remote.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Website Management:

  • Ensure web content is up-to-date, accurate, and aligned with marketing initiatives and overall marketing objectives.

  • Use learnings from Insights & Analytics team and key metrics from Google Analytics to implement strategies to enhance user experience and journeys.

  • Write, edit, and implement blog articles that are up to date with industry trends.

Email & SMS Marketing:

  • Strategize brand marketing and e-commerce initiatives across Smith & Wesson email & SMS avenues.

  • Ideate, create, and schedule content, campaigns, automations, and journeys for Smith & Wesson email & SMS avenues.

  • Implement segmentation to deliver personalized messages.

  • Monitor key campaign metrics to optimize campaign performance.

  • Implement A/B testing to improve campaign effectiveness.

  • Ensure compliance with FCC, GDPR, and CAN-SPAM in all email & SMS communications.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, marketing communication or related field.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience in website management and Email & SMS marketing

Competencies and Skills:

  • Google Analytics

  • Web content management

  • Email and SMS marketing software

  • SEO best practices

  • Copywriting

  • Basic UI/UX design principles.

  • Experience in the Adobe creative suite is preferred but not required

  • Basic HTML is preferred but not required

  • Strong writing and editing skills, along with a track record of creating content for consumers.

  • Self-motivated, independent, and proactive worker with a high level of organization, professionalism, and attention to detail

  • Familiarity and willingness to work in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced team environment

  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to think strategically

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities and projects

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to and learn new processes

Physical Demands:

  • Must be comfortable around firearms
  • Continuous: sitting

  • Occasional: walking, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, fine and gross upper body motor movement.

  • Extended time in a sitting position, prolonged use of a computer, and possible eye strain.

  • Occasional lift: 0 to 30 pounds

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:

Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.

The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:

Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor

The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
