Scope of job -- this position is responsible for performing facilities repairs and upkeep, as well as removing manufacturing waste throughout the facility.
Education and Experience
High School/GED Degree required. Vocational/Trades education preferred
One year prior experience in building maintenance repairs
Grounds keeping experience preferred
Competencies and Skills:
Must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing (basic verbal instructions, simple written memos and instructions)
Must possess valid driver's license
S&W fork truck license
Basic computer skills preferred
Basic problem-solving skills
Safely operate motorized vehicles
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Empty waste and trash throughout entire facility
Clean all aisles in facility
Operate commercial floor scrubbers, carpet cleaners and floor buffers
Provide emergency response to accidents or spills throughout the facility
Clean loading docks, parking lots/sidewalks and common areas on entire grounds
Pick up litter along roadways/fence lines
Painting/ floor sealing as needed throughout facility
Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or with PIVs
Assemble furniture and workbenches as needed
Range cleaning, including filter changes (Candidates will be trained in range cleaning)
Assist in setting up/ breaking down employee events
Assist in coverage for staff shortages resulting in working overtime or off-shift
Shovel snow & spread salt at doorways, sidewalks, etc. during storm events
Basic trades knowledge (electrical, carpentry and plumbing)
Monitor sub-contractors when onsite
General landscaping; includes operating lawnmowers, power trimmers and leaf blowers
May have to work off shift or overtime for inclement weather or emergencies
May be required to assist in other capacities in facilities department
Report any safety or facilities repairs needing attention to supervisor

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
Within any of our facilities, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing and distribution operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.
The following Personal Protective Equipment is required:
- Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection required when on manufacturing floor
The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
