Actalent Lab Technician in Maryland Heights, Missouri

Job Title: Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn basic wet chemistry and bench techniques while working in a fast-paced lab environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside chemical operators and scientists to test incoming products, in-process samples, and final samples before they are sent to customers.

  • Perform physical property testing, specific gravity testing, and pH testing.

  • Compound and create individual fragrances.

  • Restock and refill the lab as needed.

  • Document and pull items from the floor as required.

  • Ensure timely communication and cooperation with peers to meet product deadlines.

  • Compound and test 12-20 formulas per day.

Essential Skills

  • Degree in a science-related field (Bachelor's)

  • Laboratory experience (educational experience is acceptable).

  • Experience in Chemistry, Laboratory, Quality Control, pH testing, and physical testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in fast-paced environments such as restaurants, fast food, or customer service.

  • Comfortable with a contract position that may be extended.

  • Eager and open to learning new skills in the lab.

  • Ability to work autonomously and reliably.

  • Strong communication skills and willingness to help others.

Work Environment

The role requires working 90% of the time in the lab and 10% in documentation or retrieving items from the floor.

Sensitivity to strong scents is not suitable for this environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
