Description

Position Purpose:

The Part-Time Base Coordinator is responsible for maintenance of student records in compliance with federal VA and all state approving agencies, records maintenance and retention requirements. Focus on quality customer service, aid in recruitment and retention of veteran students attending online and seated courses. Enhance the administration of veterans’ education and outreach programs and provide effective services and quality customer service to students, prospective students, and campus SCO’s. Assisting students with the various requirements for requesting Military Tuition Assistance. Responsible for maintain compliance of Base Memorandum of Understanding and Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding. Serves as a backup when the Base Coordinator is unavailable.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Customer service-answers phone calls, emails and in person supplies requested GMC and general information about the school, maintains a supply of degree program information, admissions and other forms needed for admission to the school, serves as liaison between the Base Coordinator and Enrollment Coach, Grade Coach and student.

  • Assist applicants with the admissions process, reviews transcripts for necessary admissions requirements, determines the need for and schedules placement testing and makes decisions about admitting applicants into the institution, determine academic standing on how it effects currently enrolled and prospective students, determine academic standing on how it effects currently enrolled and prospective students

  • Veteran Benefits - Collects required documentation to assist SCO for VA certification, maintains accurate files on each VA student, completed various process of communications with student to maintain VA compliance.

  • Military Tuition Assistance - Assist students in requesting Military Tuition Assistance, ensures all required documents are collected and routed to appropriate individuals or departments. Assist Base Coordinator in Posting Grades at the end of the term.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum Required: High School Diploma

  • Preferred Level: Associates degree

    Experience

  • Minimum Required: Business office or College financial Aid/business office/Military Benefits Experience

  • Preferred Level: Minimum 1 year experience in a financial aid/business office/Military Benefits

    Skills

  • Minimum Required: Skill in oral and written communication, use of Microsoft Office software, use of office equipment, and proficiency in maintaining detailed records
