Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Medical Lab Education Program Director has the responsibility for providing leadership for all formal training programs sponsored through Marshfield Laboratories. This individual works with the Division of Education Administration and laboratory personnel to ensure objectives for student, employee, and client educational needs are developed and advanced. Responsible for all aspects of the programs, including planning, maintaining program accreditation requirements, systematic review of program effectiveness, student recruitment, and serving as liaison with external stakeholders.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree.

Preferred/Optional: None

EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required: Three years’ experience in Teaching. Demonstrated knowledge of educational methods and current accreditation and certification procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred/Optional: Knowledge of current National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accreditation procedures and certification procedures preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: American Society for Clinical Pathology – Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist.
