Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our Health Informatics Team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as an Electronic Health Record (EHR) Learning Specialist! This position will build and support the organization to address required training and development needs of medical staffs by creating and delivering learner-centered, and user role specific and performance-based EHR training. This position will partner with Learning and Development Specialists to offer equitable and accessible learning opportunities for employees to increase their knowledge, skills, and abilities through initial and ongoing EHR learning opportunities. This role will lead and assist the health informatics department to design and deliver effective learning and development activities and programs for all EHR users with focus on medical staff. The EHR Learning Specialist ensures customer service excellence in all interactions and delivers course content using professional presentation skills and interactive techniques appropriate to adult learners.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Use informatics concepts, methods, and tools to promote safe, effective, and optimal use of technologies.

  • Developing and delivering EHR critical learning content across multiple formats including but not limited to web-based learning, instructor- led training, blended instruction solutions, and virtual instructor-led sessions.

  • Assist others in the coordination and implementation of learning activities and programs to assure efficient and effective EHR system operation.

Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience with instructional design and delivering training to adult learners. Experience must demonstrate:

  • Experience designing, developing, and coordinating training programs and development activities.

  • Experience training and using needs assessment, training methods, adult learning, training evaluation, and measurement.

  • Experience with training and communication of complex EHR processes.

  • Experience using EHR applications and general needs of EHR across multiple disciplines.

  • Experience with learning management system or other similar tracking/reporting software.

Note: A bachelor’s degree or higher in learning management, instructional design, adult education, or related field may substitute for 1 year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of principles and strategies of adult learning and development.

  • Knowledge of EHR applications and/or medical record systems.

  • Strong group facilitation skills and techniques.
