We are looking for a Master Data/Business Analyst at our office in Marshall, MN. This role serves as an analyst and strategic consultant to assigned business areas supporting business analytics needs. This position has a primary responsibility for translating the business's (client) needs into actionable data requests and synthesized findings/recommendations. The role will work to support, with deep insights, and offer solutions for critical business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform master data and hierarchy maintenance; ensures accuracy and integrity across systems and completes documentation of master data processes and procedures.

  • Serve as an analytical liaison between the business client (specifically directors, managers, specialists, and analysts) and the technical analysts, translating business questions/inquiries into analytic problem statements

  • Assist client teams in asking/framing 'hypothesis/questions' that will result in actionable insights. Projects will require scoping and prioritization and, at times may require effectively and respectfully offering alternative approaches.

  • Partner with technical analysts to leverage their expertise to pull information and to appropriately scope requests to most efficiently answer the analytical request. Define terms and translate requirements for the technical analysts. The Business Analyst will escalate any concerns to his or her manager.

  • With direction from their manager, tell an effective story with data; translate the summary level findings and aggregated data into: * Business relevant findings and recommendations * Assess value (i.e. size of the prize) * Determine potential business risk * Additional follow-up on analysis paths * Provide analysis plan for post launch review (PLR).

  • Use business facing tools, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access) and other possible tools such as PowerBI to create the business story. Ensure integrity and objectivity of all data, process, and methodologies.

  • Conduct routine analysis and assist other Business Analysts for large, complex projects.

  • Assist the other Business Analysts and the Technical Team in defining business terms in ways the business leaders can understand and the technical analysts can implement.

  • Responsible to conduct yourself in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required

  • Years of Related Experience: Typically has 3-5 years of related experience in Consumer Packaged Goods industry and SAP preferred.

  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Creative Problem Solving: Ability to navigate ambiguity, approach complex situations with hands-on problem solving, and think creatively.

  • Analytical Expertise: Basic understanding of tools like BW, PowerBI, and Qlik, combined with strong financial modeling and data analysis skills.

  • Results-Oriented: Demonstrates persistence and a sense of urgency in achieving goals, applying problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Effectively interacts across all employee levels, aligning with departments, and presenting complex data simply.

  • Leadership & Initiative: Able to lead projects, take ownership, and manage team initiatives with strong time management and organizational skills.
