For full details of our benefits offerings, please visit: peoplesbancorp.com/about-us/find-a-career/ Job Purpose: Complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual tasks, as assigned, to facilitate the monthly general ledger close process, as well as the quarterly and annual reporting requirements. Job Duties: Perform daily and monthly corporate accounting duties of the holding company and its subsidiaries. Prepare and record standard general ledger entries. Assist with the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statement closing process and related internal controls. Review the accuracy of various internal and external financial reports, including bank regulatory and/or SEC reports. Provide back-up and support for corporate accounting activities. Research outages and be able to record correcting journal entries. Will perform special projects as assigned. Education, Job Skills and Qualifications: High school degree, GED or foreign equivalent required. Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent job knowledge is preferred. Basic knowledge of accounting procedures from either practical work experience or accounting coursework. Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel. Must be detailed oriented. Able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced and changing work environment. Must be able to work independently under general instruction/supervision in completion of current assignments and new tasks assigned (must be able to complete assigned work accurately and timely with general direction). Must have or develop a knowledge of assigned areas of responsibility and understand internal controls Demonstrate an ability to navigate Peoples' systems, software, and an understanding of policies and procedures (develop understanding of where information is located, how to obtain, and use in efficient manner). Strong interpersonal communication skills - team members, peers, and management. Proven ability to plan and organize resources to achieve goals. Well developed listening and time management skills.
