Army National Guard Units IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) - TITLE 32 in Marietta, Georgia

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is for an IT Specialist (Network), Position Description Number D0262000 located in the information management organization in the J2 at Clay National Guard Center, Marietta, GA. This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership. Area of Consideration: This position is open to current members in the Georgia Army National Guard. Responsibilities As an IT Specialist (Network Services), GS-2210-11, you will: Perform a variety of network device configuration and connectivity tasks. Execute procedures and coordinate corrective actions to optimize network performance. Implement the standard configuration software loads for all network devices. Use remote management software tools to maintain and update configuration, protocol and user/system files. Document and track change to configuration, protocol and user/system files. Execute appropriate action to ensure backup processes are completed. Evaluate the performance of network devices such as servers, workstations, and peripheral devices, and remote access systems. Coordinate the development and implementation of configuration management plans for complex LANs and WANs with supported elements to include headquarters staff elements, tenant activities, state government, regional operating activities and national agencies. Implement plans and procedures for remote installation of applications and upgrades using state of the art software distribution methods. Monitor distribution of applications and upgrades ensuring compliance with regulations and copyright laws. Implement procedures to ensure accurate records of authorized users of distributed software are maintained. Implement the standard operating procedures for all devices on the network. Review and evaluate proposed software. Analyzes equipment and software reliability and utilization reports to identify and define problem areas and to establish end-to-end systems performance levels. Perform other duties as assigned. Military Grades: Unspecified Compatible Military Assignments: Unspecified General Experience: Must possess experience which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automation systems. Specialized Experience: Candidate must have 36 months specialized experience which demonstrates the knowledge of, and skill in applying, a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices concerning equipment, facility, or service operations with complicated technical requirements that have no clear precedent or plan. Experience overseeing and implementing a program involving the identification and resolution of difficult issues or problems. Experience preparing budgets based on plans for maintenance, repair work, new construction alteration projects, replacement of existing equipment, or increase in services and processes to ensure program effectiveness. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
