Lockheed Martin Airworthiness Engineer, Senior - Level 3 in Marietta, Georgia

Description: We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Airworthiness and Propulsion Engineer to join our Air Mobility & Maritime Mission (AMMM) Airworthiness Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft systems, supporting the business needs of the Engineering & Technology organization, and enabling innovation and increased efficiencies.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Provide expert guidance on FAA regulations, including 14 CFR Part 25, Part 36, Part 43, Part 121, and Part 145, to support airworthiness decisions

• Manage Airworthiness Products to support airworthiness cycles and technical planning, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA), to achieve agreements on certification approaches and ensure airworthiness compliance

• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to drive airworthiness decisions and ensure effective communication with stakeholders

• Work closely with senior leadership, including the AMMM Deputy Chief Engineer's, Chief Engineer, and Director of Engineering & Technology, to manage commercial airworthiness demands and ensure airworthiness compliance

• Provide recommendations to the AMMM Chief Engineer or Nation's Airworthiness Authority on aircraft airworthiness, in accordance with European Military Airworthiness Requirements (EMAR) Part 21 and Part 145

• Conduct root cause analysis of airworthiness risks and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure airworthiness compliance

• Implement engineering projects in accordance with FAA Airworthiness Directives, OEM Service Bulletins, and EMAR Service Bulletins to ensure airworthiness compliance

• Provide regular reports on fleet performance and reliability to engineering and airworthiness authorities, using data analysis and trend monitoring to inform airworthiness decisions

• Author and review technical documentation, including certification artifacts, flight releases, and EMAR reports, to support airworthiness compliance and certification

Basic Qualifications:

Strong background in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on airworthiness (14 CFR Part 25, Part 36, Part 43, Part 121, and Part 145) and propulsion systems.

Desired Skills:

Experience multi-tasking in a dynamic work

Strong Microsoft Office skills.

Experience working with cross functional teams

and frequent status reporting to management.

Exceptional written and verbal communication

skills.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
