Rehabilitation Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides expert guidance and assistance to the rehab clinicians in all matters relating to the delivery of home health services to assure that quality standards are maintained.

  • Ensures agency policies and procedures are known and followed by all rehab staff.

  • Attends and participates in in-service programs.

  • Ensures that rehab services are provided in accordance with the physician’s plan of care. Advises the Director of Rehabilitation of any lapses.

  • Keeps up with rehab trends and developments, and rehab-related home health and management issues.

  • Facilitates positive communication among staff and collaborates among agency departments.

  • Participates in agency quality improvement programs as needed.

  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Works toward resolution of interpersonal conflicts as they arise.

  • Uses words that express respect, patience, and understanding interactions with others.

  • Follows appropriate phone etiquette.

    Job Qualifications Required

  • One year of home health experience preferred.

  • License to practice professional physical therapy in New York State.

    Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred

  • Graduate of an approved program in physical therapy

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and HHA DOH regulations

  • Excellent communication skills
