R&D Engineer III Interventional Heart Failure Maple Grove, MN Onsite About the role: In this role, you'll work on our Research and Development team on a wide variety of challenging and rewarding new product development activities focused on bringing new and impactful therapies to patients around the globe. The position will focus on early-stage prototyping, developing, and optimizing new design solutions for a complex medical therapy, ultimately driving to design lock, DV, and commercial readiness. We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with sound technical fundamentals, creative problem-solving skills, and can drive execution in a diverse and fast-paced environment. Come join this exciting and growing team! Your responsibilities will include: Developing therapy delivery concepts such as access sheaths, guidewires, catheters, and dilators. Design owner for components, sub-assemblies, or finished medical device assemblies. Drive prototyping and concept selection activities through partnership with internal or external resources. Engage with end users to gather design feedback, driving an iterative approach to innovation Develop thorough test plans, drive experiment execution, analyze data, and present findings to the team for review and feedback. Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of design, manufacturing, and quality requirements. Execute project tasks relating to area of ownership, from initial prototypes through design verification and commercial readiness. Author technical reports that communicate findings and share knowledge across the business unit. Contribute ideas to or generate Intellectual Property submissions. Troubleshoot issues as they arise and work with fellow engineers to develop strong engineering solutions. Significant amount of hands-on, in-lab product development and testing. Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or above (from an accredited school) in engineering. Mechanical engineering or Biomedical engineering majors preferred. Strong engineering fundamentals and sound technical judgment. 3+ years of work experience in engineering. Design and testing experience strongly preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to execute and follow through on project responsibilities. Work well and thrive within a team environment. Willingness to work Onsite at our Maple Grove, Minnesota site Preferred Qualifications: Design and testing experience Solid experience in cardiac therapy delivery design and/or understanding of physiologic uses conditions and testing Highly motivated individual that can drive deliverables through creative problem solving and collaboration among team members. Demonstrated ability to ideate, prototype, and implement creative product design solutions for medical therapies. Medical device experience Basic understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), medical device design control / quality systems and the product development process (PLCP). History of experimental design and execution, data analysis and knowledge sharing. Ability to travel as project needs arise. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
