Park Nicollet Clinic Licensed Practical Nurse Team Lead in Maple Grove, Minnesota
CSS Team Lead - Park Nicollet Maple Grove Primary Care We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic CSS Team Lead to join our Park Nicollet Maple Grove Primary Care clinic. This leadership position involves a balance of administrative responsibilities and direct clinical support, working closely with our team of 25 clinicians, including Doctors, PAs, and NPs in various specialties such as med/peds, internal medicine, pediatrics, and family medicine. The clinical support staff team consists of approximately 27 LPNs, MAs, EMTs, and CNAs. Key Responsibilities May Include (but not limited to): Prepare staffing schedules, including coverage for planned and unplanned absences. Serve as the primary contact for employees regarding absences or lateness. Assist the Supervisor in interviewing candidates. Review and assist the leader with employee timecards. Share performance opportunities of employees with the leader. Provide feedback for the performance review process of staff. Address real-time performance issues and opportunities with employees, notifying the leader as needed. Develop and implement training plans for new staff or new processes. Coordinate day-to-day work schedules and tasks. Direct employees on daily work and clinic needs. Assign work to team members. Assist the Supervisor/Leader in work unit planning, identifying needs and opportunities. Support project work needed by the clinic, department, or leader. Provides daily work direction to staff of designated unit, ensuring quality practical nursing care to patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and Park Nicollet standards. Position Summary: 1. Directs the daily operation of staff within the designated unit, training and orientating newly hired personnel to departmental policies and procedures. 2. Acts as liaison between department supervisor and staff, relaying pertinent information. 3. Provides input into employee performance appraisals for designated unit. 4. Administers invasive procedures such as catheterization, immunization, and medications by any route except I.V and documents via the integrated medical record. 5. Triages patients' problems with resolution by advice or referral using clinic protocols. 6. Prepares patients for tests, examinations, or treatment. 7. Assists physician with diagnostic and surgical procedures and performs various routine tests. 8. Recognizes and responds under direct supervision to emergency situations requiring immediate and proper action. 9. Collects and documents patient health data via the integrated medical record. 10. Instructs patients on routine/standardized home or self-care procedures. 11. Provides basic patient counseling on disease or condition management. 12. Serves as a patient advocate by maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights. 13. Performs other tasks as assigned. Required Qualifications: This role requires a BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained. On-line BLS certification is not acceptable. Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: o Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing o One or more years of nursing experience (preferably in a related field of medicine). Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: o Must maintain a current state practical nursing licensure. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: o Strong clinical, human relations, and motivational skills. o Leadership qualities also required. o Basic computer/keyboarding skills required. o Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients. o Safely and effectively operates the following: Various health testing equipment (i.e., vision, hearing, blood pressure, etc.), Persona computer, Printer, Fax machine, Photocopier, and Telephone.
