  2. LPC (must have school/ISD experience within last few years!)

X3 Middle School

Caseload Details: Campus-wide support, some campuses have more than 1 counselor. Elementary will support their students for social-emotional, where the secondary will cover social-emotional & academic scheduling.

Day to Day Duties:

-teach developmental guidance curriculum

-help teachers incorporate guidance-related topics into their currirculum

-provide guidance to individual & groups of students

-counseling individuals & small groups

-consult with parents, teachers, admin, & other team members to better student outcome

-use effective referral process to help students

-standardized testing assistance

-compile, maintain & file all reports, records & other documents required by law

Group or 1:1 support (Paras, BTs, Nurses): both group & 1:1 sessions

Start & End Date: August 14 th – May 29

Start & End Time: Full Time (40 hours/week)

Elementary 7:00-3:00

Middle 8:00-4:00

H.S. 9:00-5:00

In person or virtual interview: Virtual

District specific onboarding requirements: Manor AUA form + Fingerprints

The School Counselor/School Mental Health Worker providescounseling to students in need of counseling and/or support with their mentalhealth needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides necessary counseling as required for the studentand/or as outlined in the student’s IHP

  • Evaluates the students’ psychosocial needs, and evaluatesthe progress

  • Collaborates with all disciplines to plan and evaluate goalsfor each student

  • Implements and manages school guidance programs

  • Utilizes a variety of therapy techniques and treatmentplans

  • Works with students in individual, small group and/orclassroom settings

  • Facilitates student learning involving life skills,organization techniques and time management

  • Assists students with creating an academic plan for theireducation

  • Adheres to Amergis and District policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements:

  • Licensing/Certification according to state/facility/contractrequirement

  • The Counselor may be required to have an Associate’s Degree,Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Psychology, Addictions, Sociology, Social Work,Counseling, Nursing, or some other Human Development major per state, contract and/or facility guidelines.

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements

  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and fromappropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

  • Computer proficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
