Genesis10 is seeking a Systems Engineer for a contract with our client in Mankato, MN. Job Description: Responsible for management of IT Infrastructure at processing plants, including day-to-day oversight, issue resolution and project coordination for small to medium sized work efforts, enhancements and implementation of new technologies. Work on a team of systems analysts and engineers and partner with a full complement of IT teams, including Network, Voice, Servers, Surveillance and Security/Threat Prevention. Support OT systems alongside dedicated OT applications teams. Primary point-of-contact for plant leadership to enterprise IT. The Business Systems Engineer (BSE) on the Service Delivery Team in "Client " IT Global Infrastructure supports work efforts that deliver infrastructure products and services to business units across the Enterprise. The BSE plays a role from identification of need through deployment and testing. The BSE incorporates enterprise infrastructure protocol and good practices into all work initiatives and takes an ownership role in ensuring consistent, reliable, and high-value solutions are implemented and can be efficiently supported. A core expectation of the BSE is the ability to be collaborative and work cross-functionally with a variety of IT teams, including Product teams, the IT Service Center and Operators and systems architects, as well as subject-matter experts and stakeholders from business areas across the enterprise. In partnership with these groups, the BSE coordinates external vendors, establishes work plans and timelines, develops test and acceptance criteria, and implements initiatives that bring value to the client and achieve business goals. Key Responsibilities: Provide consistent and satisfactory customer service to internal customers and colleagues, operating with a strong sense of accountability and integrity Build relationships with Business, IT customers and 3rd party vendors and suppliers Follow the client Leadership Expectations; demonstrate capabilities in all interactions Follow all IT, Global Infrastructure and team policies and procedures Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Functional responsibilities Work with other IT analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to do the following: - understand and document the business case and how systems function end-to-end in the current state, focusing particularly on requirements and dependencies for infrastructure components or services - assist with the design, upgrade, and monitoring of systems - determine hardware required to support business systems and processes Document use cases, business requirements and system requirements important to the delivery of infrastructure products and services Coordinate staging, installation and configuration of new or upgraded systems Test or coordinate testing for bugs and errors prior to go-live; develop test plans and document the successful completion of testing prior to go-live; work with Service Delivery Team Manager to engage Quality Assurance for assistance if needed Create diagrams and process flows that aid in the ability to provide infrastructure products and services Maintain platform and/or project documentation according to the Global Infrastructure Document Storage Procedure Document issues, enhancement requests and feedback from internal customers according to standard IT and Global Infrastructure procedures, as well as Service Delivery team guidelines and best practices Manage and resolve incidents using ServiceNow Submit and manage Change Requests using ServiceNow according to IT policy and procedures Lead or co-lead work efforts that aim to deliver infrastructure services for remote sites, plants, and terminals Utilize appropriate tools and invoke key concepts from project and perform nce management approaches, including project charter, A3, critical path analysis, timeline and milestones, stakeholder analysis, and issue & risk management Proactively prioritize business needs and effectively manage time and resources to complete critical tasks Procure new gear and hardware for work efforts using Coupa according to Global Infrastructure equipment standards and guidelines Use Azure DevOps to manage assigned work efforts. Keep DevOps records maintained and current in accordance with Service Delivery team guidelines and best practices Engage and manage Smart Hands contractors according to Global Infrastructure's Smart Hands policy and procedures Required Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma (or equivalency) Some IT experience as a business systems analyst, infrastructure analyst or related position, or a combination to include: Experience with infrastructure centric projects dealing with desktop, server, LAN/WAN and firewall technologies Experience with firewall, router/switch integration and implementation working with ISPs, vendors, and remote sites Experience in business systems analysis, gathering business and system requirements, writing use cases and test cases, and developing specifications, diagrams, and flowcharts Demonstrated comfort and knowledge of project coordination concepts, including drafting charters, establishing and managing to timelines and milestones, conducting stakeholder analysis, and drafting status reports Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Visio, and Teams Experience working as a member of a cross-function team Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills 2+ years direct or indirect leadership experience on small to medium size enterprise initiatives Additional Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred in Information technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Technology Management, or a related field Knowledge of performance improvement methodologies, like LEAN Knowledge of system and network development methodologies, like Agile Familiar with Azure DevOps Ability to work in a team environment without direct supervision, with teams consisting of both IT and business process owners Management or coordination of 3rd party vendors and suppliers Proven ability to see the big picture, while also driving work efforts at the detail-level Compensation: Hourly W2 pay rate $ We have access to additional contract, contract-to-hire, and direct hire positions with various rate ranges.
