Bowery Residents Committee RN Supervisor - 127 West 25th Street in Manhattan, New York
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Lead LPN for Jack Ryan Residence will supervise two other LPNs and will responsible for coordinating health care needs on the unit. The Lead LPN will take the lead in organizing the provision of medical, nursing, and psychiatric services at that site, provide mentoring and support to new or new to the program LPNs, assuring high quality care is provided to clients. They will take the lead in creating community resources in the program and will review documentation for compliance standards and provide writing assistance. They will provide technical support to the VP of Nursing in helping sites to adopt changes in nursing and program procedure. They will be quality improvement measure champions, helping to ensure that as much as possible, data is captured in Awards so that change impact is measurable.
HOURS:
37.5 hours per week
Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm
QUALIFICATIONS
NYS LPN license required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness preferred. Knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorder helpful. Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel. Bilingual skills a plus. CPR training certification or willingness to complete certification training in CPR and opioid overdose prevention.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
BRC began operating the Jack Ryan Residence in August 2011. The Jack Ryan Residence, funded by the NYC Department of Homeless Services, is a 200-bed shelter for homeless men living with mental illness. The program provides a complete range of mental health stabilization, medication management, case management, and medical services aimed at moving residents into permanent housing. The ultimate goal of the program is to place its clients into appropriate, supportive housing within nine months.
