UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer. This will be a hybrid position, and the office will be in Manhattan, NY. Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 3 days onsite in Manhattan, NY. Position: The Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and administration of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems, and systems software products. The candidate will also support UNIX Systems Services and provide off-hour production coverage and periodic weekend implementations.   MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of experience in a relevant technical field.

• Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• 10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD, basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.), program product installations, IBM virtual tape system, and Unix System Services.

• Experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.

• Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2, and AFP printing.

• Experience using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.

• Experience working with enterprise-wide, large-scale implementations.

• Experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant.

  SCOPE OF SERVICES:

• Perform ongoing maintenance of the mainframe z/OS operating system, storage systems, and systems software products.

• Upgrade mainframe and related storage systems.

• Provide off-hour production coverage and support for periodic weekend implementations.

• Utilize VTAM and TCP/IP for network management.

• Implement and manage JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD, and basic IBM utilities.

• Install program products and manage IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.

• Use monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON to oversee system performance.

• Collaborate with teams on enterprise-wide, large-scale implementations.

• Document all processes and changes effectively.
