Bowery Residents Committee Learning & Development Coordinator (Temp) 131 West 25th Street (6 month contract) in Manhattan, New York

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to prepare for new employee orientation sessions and orientation efforts with BRC programs to ensure programs are prepared to receive new staff

  • Engage with programs and managers to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new staff

  • Support the facilitation of orientation and other training sessions, topics including introduction to BRC’s mission and values and client engagement, as needed

  • Identifying 30-60-90 day training and program support needs from L&D team

  • Partner closely with clinical and operations leadership to develop a systematic approach to defining performance requirements, identifying gaps between existing and required performance, analyzing the causes and factors that limit performance.

  • Assist in ensuring that employees are being provided developmental growth opportunities by maximizing participation of classes/learning experiences, while monitoring efficiencies through usage of reporting dashboards, scorecards and career pathing.

  • Assist in performing the initial needs assessment and then assist in design and rollout of leadership development course content while continuously improving BRC’s leadership development programs deployed for the various target audiences (ie., aspiring leaders, mid-level leaders, senior leaders, etc.).

  • Assist in Implementing the strategy for developing content based on the needs of the agency as well as on employee feedback regarding career and leadership development aspirations.

  • Assist in conducting employee job satisfaction surveys in partnership with the Director’s and VP. Perform statistical analysis, generate reports, and explore innovative ways to enhance employee retention.

  • Identify and measure utilization, impact, and effectiveness of all talent initiatives, and identify insights that will drive continuous improvement; assess and predict talent needs as the organization grows.

  • Execute with strong project management skills, including monitoring work-plans and managing against milestones, knowing what to prioritize and why, knowing who to keep informed, why, and how often, and knowing when to escalate.

  • Assist in developing and implementing performance management processes, including effective goal setting, ongoing quality conversations, and descriptive assessments.

  • Provides support and help to organize employee engagement activities Related duties as assigned

Schedule

Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum 1 or 2 years of experience in HR, training or related role

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on efficiency

  • Commitment to BRC’s mission and values

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and support a diverse workforce

    Other Information

    Standard work hours apply, with some flexibility required for training sessions and orientation activities

  • This position works in an office setting but may require occasional travel to different program sites
