\ \ Executive Director of Applied Learning\ \ Department: 3670043010 Staley School of Leadership\ Job no: 517487\ Employment type: Staff Full Time (Unclassified - Regular)\ Location: Manhattan, Kansas\ Worksite: On-site requirement\ Categories: Executive / Director / Management\ Pay Grade: 15A\ \ \ About This Role:\ K-State is seeking an experienced leader to fill the role of Executive Director of Applied Learning, a new position reporting directly to the Dean of the Mary Lynn and Warren Staley School of Leadership. As the leader of a university strategic initiative, the Executive Director will play a pivotal role in coordinating and advancing applied learning strategies and activities across the university while building a robust, integrated applied learning function throughout the university. This position is responsible for ensuring the availability and quality of applied learning experiences at K-State, including a commitment to an educational approach that involves purposeful experience, intentional observation, and critical reflection. The Executive Director will be essential in developing the foundation for this university-wide initiative, including tracking and reporting mechanisms, developing policies and procedures, building and expanding a network of stakeholders at the university and in communities, providing direction and support for faculty in expanding existing and creating new applied learning experiences, and promoting and supporting the integration of applied learning experiences across the entire institution.\ \ Why Join Us:\ Kansas State University offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, life insurance, retirement plans, paid time off - vacation, sick, and holidays.   • Bachelor\'s degree

\ Preferred Qualifications:

Earned doctorate or other terminal degree from an accredited institution

Demonstrated commitment to applied learning as an educational approach that involves an ongoing cycle of purposeful experiences, intentional observation, and critical reflection

Record as a successful administrator with relevant managerial and supervisory experience, including guiding strategy, financial planning and management, staffing and personnel management, policy formulation, and business and operational planning and oversight

Proven leadership skills with the ability to analyze, prioritize, plan, coordinate, articulate, and execute strategic initiatives and engage others effectively in implementation

Evidence of ab lity to communicate with diverse audiences and provide clear and compelling messaging

Strategic and creative planner, and outstanding collaborator and relationship builder with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, management, and decision-making skills

Proven ability to initiate, lead, and facilitate transformational change and innovation initiatives, be adaptable with changing conditions, and comfortable with the ambiguity that accompanies a large public university

Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, discretion, and sensitivity to confidentiality

Proven success as an innovative, unifying, and strategic leader with accomplishments in planning, developing, growing, and assessing innovative and effective academic programs to meet the evolving needs of students and learners within a shared governance environment

Understanding of the importance of faculty development in a land-grant university with Research-1 status, including infusing applied learning into their practices
