Tecomet Injection Mold Operator in Manchester, New Hampshire

Injection Mold Operator - 1st Shift

Position Summary

Under supervision of the Manufacturing Group Leader, tends to and operates injection molding machines, inspects parts, and performs trimming, drilling, or other processing, cleaning or maintenance operations.  The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean and organized work area

  • Identifies 5S opportunities and takes initiative to clean, organize and improve department cleanliness

  • Tends to injection molding presses in operation

  • Retrieves parts as molded from machine and processes in accordance with procedures

  • Inspects components to ensure no discrepant material is passed to subsequent processes

  • Records, maintains, and properly stores accurate data during production

  • Reports labor and production transactions accurately in ERP system

  • Supports other areas/functions within the department/facility when requested

  • Complies with all organizational, local and federal safety and health regulations

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 2-5 years plastic injection molding operator experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills

  • Basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)

  • Ability to use basic measuring tools including but not limited to calipers, height gauges and comparison charts

  • Ability to use basic processing equipment including but not limited to drill presses, deburring tools, and cutting pliers

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
