Eastern Industrial Automation Hydraulic Technician in Manchester, New Hampshire

An International Industrial Distributor of Power Transmission, Motion Control and Pneumatic products and Engineering Systems is seeking a highly motivated, reliable, career minded, Hydraulic Technician, with a strong work ethic, to add to our team located in our Manchester, NH location.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Disassembles pumps, motors, controls and subassemblies.

  • Inspects all parts for conformance to specifications.

  • Prepares written documentation of work to be performed including but not limited to, bill of materials, stock in report, purchase requisition and computer documentation sheet.

  • Assembles pumps, motors, valves, controls, and subassemblies using required parts and components in a cost effective manner to conform to installation and performance specifications of original manufacture.

  • Mounts, couples or connects as required to test conformance of performance to original manufacture specifications.

    Education/Experience:

  • Must be mechanically inclined

  • Experience with Hydraulic components, a plus

  • Familiar with both micrometers, caliper measuring tools, and welding equipment

  • Ability to read interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Attention to detail

    Basic Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required

    Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted.

  • Experience and/or educational background related to mechanics, hydraulic systems and mechanical products

  • Able to develop the computer skills necessary to complete support duties

  • Physical effort is required to move objects and service-related tools that may weigh up to 75 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling are required to service and repair equipment

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience as a Hydraulic Technician or equivalent.

  • High school graduate or equivalent, technical degree preferred

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices

    Major Responsibilities

    Complete on-the-job and classroom training in the mechanical, and hydraulic components of the product line and associated repair/service procedures so as to be successful as a Shop Technician.

  • Uphold safety commitment and follow the safety manual of the shop

  • Diagnose issues with hydraulic and mechanical systems

  • Restore equipment to working order through component replacement and/or repair

  • Assembly of hydraulic systems

  • Generates technical reports, (written & oral) and interfaces with Engineering, Manufacturing and other in-house customers on a professional basis

  • Performs all phases of receiving inspection, verification testing, teardown repair, and overhaul of articles on the capabilities list

  • Work with an experienced staff as an effective team consistently

  • Exhibit positive and effective communication and interaction with other associates, vendors, and customers

  • Keep current on recordkeeping, parts ordering/inventory, basic contract provisions with respect to product warranties, and customer invoicing

  • Utilize operators and parts & maintenance manuals in determining procedures and identifying parts

  • Tube Bending

  • Hydraulic Power Unit Layout
