We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in Manchester, Connecticut. This role is central to our operations, with a focus on planning and managing all accounting operational functions. The Controller will be responsible for the consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading a small accounting and clerical department.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings, collections, and payroll

• Prepare and manage month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet

• Conduct account reconciliations and G/L analysis

• Regularly prepare cash-flow reports and manage daily cash

• Ensure timely monthly billing and implement other cash management techniques

• Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

• Evaluate, implement, and streamline policies, procedures, controls, and methodologies

• Research, plan, and implement Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation

• Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts, and conduct monthly monitoring

• Collaborate closely with the COO, executive team, and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation.

Requirements • Proven experience as a Controller, with at least 5 years in the field

• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting software systems

• Proficiency in accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Extensive experience in auditing and budget processes

• Familiarity with manufacturing industry

• Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles

• Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP)

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Table and VLOOKUP functions

• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field

• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills

• Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.
