We are seeking a Customer Service Representative for our location in Fairfax, Virginia. This role will be based in the payment processing department of our organization, working on-site from Monday to Friday. The position offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity and involves a variety of tasks centered around customer service, collections, and data entry.
• Efficiently handle customer inquiries and resolve issues.
• Process customer credit applications with precision.
• Update and maintain accurate customer credit records.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions.
• Follow up with customers regarding past due payments through phone calls and emails.
• Send reminders to customers about delinquent payments via email, voicemail, and mail.
• Perform data entry tasks to update customer accounts.
• Collaborate with the mortgage division, applying prior collections or banking experience as needed.
• Handle multiple phone calls in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Utilize Office suite effectively and demonstrate a willingness to learn new processes and systems.
Requirements
• Applicant must have a minimum of 1 year experience in a customer service role.
• Proven experience in Collections - Consumer is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Office software is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
• Demonstrated ability to handle customer queries and complaints effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stress.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in a related field is advantageous.
• Familiarity with CRM systems and practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
• Willingness to work in shifts as customer service often requires 24/7 coverage.
