Insight Global Construction Inspector (VA) in Manassas, Virginia

Job Description

Insight Global is in search of a Construction Inspector in the NOVA, VA area to support one of our largest consulting clients in the area, who has standing contractors with multiple Transportation industries.

Day to Day:

 Construction Monitoring:

o Monitor contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance

o Coordinate and direct all phases of construction inspection

o Review and monitor contractors plan of operation

o Advise contractors of violations and recommend adjustments

 Field Work:

o Make field measurements of pay items and conduct materials testing

o Maintain and review comprehensive project records

o Compile construction reports documenting daily activities

 Coordination:

o Coordinate various phases of construction with prime contractor and agency personnel

o Schedule and coordinate project inspection with contractor personnel

o Coordinate with local government, law enforcement, suppliers, and utility companies

 Compliance:

o Ensure compliance with contract terms, specifications, and Federal labor requirements

Skills and Requirements

- High School Diploma (required)

- 2-year Technical Degree with emphasis in engineering, mathematics, and basic sciences (preferred)

- Minimum 6 years of experience in heavy construction

- At least 3 years of VDOT experience in roadway, bridges, and stormwater construction

- Related heavy construction experience

- VDOT certifications or similar construction experience

- Travel:

o Availability to travel to project site locations

- Work Hours:

o Availability to work overtime and occasionally on weekends - VDOT Experience null
