WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Global Controller of CPI oversees the Accounting and Financial Compliance for the largest reportable segment within Crane NXT. As a Finance leader in the Company and the partner of the business CFO, the Global Controller embodies the principles of Crane NXT’s culture and business system, serving as a hands-on role model for all associates through her/his leadership. The Global Controller is responsible for the execution of the annual Operating plan and subsequent updates of outlook/forecast information through the monthly closing and reporting processes. The Global Controller works very closely with the general managers of each business unit within CPI to understand their financial and operational outlook and to identify and manage risks and opportunities, with a strict adherence to compliance and governance procedures. The Global Controller maintains a close working relationship with Crane NXT’s Chief Accounting Officer and wider accounting organization to ensure adherence to the company’s policies and best practices. The Global Controller maintains a regular cadence of talent reviews to ensure recruitment, development, and retention of a superior extended team. Utilizing the Crane Business System, the Global Controller establishes the pace for continuous improvement across the team, in accordance with our company’s core values.

This role is located in Malvern, PA, however other locations would be considered based on the candidate.

  • VP/General Managers of 5 primary end markets

Key Responsibilities:

Execution of Annual Strategic Plan and Operating Plan

  • Business partner to CFO in executing strategic and operational plan through timely and accurate reporting and analysis.

  • Partner to business unit General Managers; understands market and operations of the business and anticipates needs for analysis to make strategic decisions.

  • Accountability for the monthly reporting of consolidated results including flash reporting and internal metric reporting through the monthly close cycle

  • Drive free cash flow through operational excellence and monitoring of key metrics

  • Identify and direct analysis of economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the Company’s operations.

  • Establish and maintain effective cadence for pulse, forecasting and planning processes to provide reliable and forward-looking information. Responsible for implementing counter measures to ensure financial consistency and drive improvement.

  • Drive engagement and accountability for results in the operating teams through regular reviews of leading and lagging indicators, including orders and sales trends. Communicate early and regularly with the CFO on updates to the outlook.

Maintaining environment of compliance and accountability

  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and Crane NXT finance policies through detailed reviews of accounting records and supervision of control self-assessments

  • Collaborate with Corporate Finance team on technical accounting, tax and treasury matters.

Ensure Flawless Operational Execution and Achieve Financial Results

  • Lead and manage with financial and operational rigor, discipline, and precision.

  • Drive operational improvement initiatives to ensure continuing operational improvements.Foster a continuous improvement mind-set to drive ongoing lower costs, via the enterprise-wide adoption of Lean principles and operational efficiency.

  • Ability to respond quickly to changes in our business operations, markets served and products to ensure management has necessary data for decision making.

DESIRED OUTCOMES

  • Develop strong working relationships with the CPI management team and Crane NXT Corporate key stakeholders

  • Partner to the CFO in evolving the CPI Finance organization strategy, talent, culture, systems, and processes to grow CPI sales by mid-single digits.

  • Continue the operational excellence discipline already in the company of increasing operating margins and generating strong free cash flow year-over-year through working capital management.

  • Partner with the leadership team to execute strategic acquisitions to build the CPI platform.

The successful candidate will be an exceptional business leader with relevant experience at industrial manufacturing companies known for world-class finance organizations. He/she will be a hands-on leader, with a strong focus on customers and growth, and will implement process discipline through the Crane Business System.

The CPI Global Controller will naturally lead and act with integrity, authenticity, transparency, and honesty. He/she will respect, energize, and amplify the contributions of a diverse workforce, encouraging Finance associates to anticipate the needs of their business partners. They will have the ambition and drive to gain the experience needed to develop into a senior Finance leader at Crane NXT.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

Global Controller, division of a U.S. publicly traded company

  • Proven track record leading a global financial/accounting organization of similar scale and complexity

  • Strong knowledge of the monthly close process and technical accounting

  • Detailed experience consolidating results of a global corporation, including intercompany eliminations and accounting for foreign exchange

  • Highly driven and self-motivated individual who can manage projects independently

  • Detailed oriented, highly organized individual with a positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement

  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative nature with the ability to influence and lead others, while showing empathy

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations to senior management
