Internship Program Overview:

Our Interns & Co-ops are our entry-level talent pipeline for GF across the globe. Our goal is to provide students with a meaningful work experience that will equip them with the skills to embark on a career in the fast-paced and growing semiconductor industry after graduation. As an intern at GF, you’ll experience one-on-one mentorship, work assignments that prioritize your growth and potential, professional development opportunities, and the chance to network with executives.

Summary of Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work with and learn from a top-tier in-house legal and contracts team focusing on intellectual property right s and strategic licensing and collaboration agreements . You’ll work directly with a team of IP attorneys, patent agents, and contracts professionals to provide support for worldwide technical and business teams in the exciting semiconductor industry.

Essential Responsibilities include:

• Assist ing the GF IP L egal team in evaluati ng invention s for potential patent protection

• Support ing the GF IP Legal team in patent infringement analysis

• Support ing the GF contracts team in negotiating collaboration and licensing agreements in partnership with the GF technical and business teams

• Assisting the GF contracts team in drafting g overnment p roposal s

  Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs .

  Required Qualifications:

• Legal Education – A t least a 1 L at time of application and a ctively pursuing a legal ( Juris Docto r ) degree through an accredited degree program during the time of internship .

• Must be in the top 50% of your law school class, and be in good academic standing.

• Technical Degree – A completed bachelors degree in a technically relevant field (such as Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science) with at least an overall 3.0 GPA.

• Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)

• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

  Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior related work , internship , or co-op experience

• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.

• Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.

• Strong planning & organizational skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience or education in the field of semiconductor manufacturing or design
