Description

We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Malibu, California. This role involves managing all aspects of the general ledger, preparing financial statements, and supervising Senior Accountants. The Accounting Manager/Supervisor will also play a key role in maintaining effective communication with various teams and external partners, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP. Must have real estate partnership accounting experience and be able to prepare and review financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger, including the review of journal entries for accuracy and monthly account reconciliations.

• Generate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements along with variance analysis.

• Develop cash flow projections and assist in the preparation of annual budgets.

• Implement and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting to safeguard the company's assets.

• Analyze and improve current processes, implementing new ones with the support of upper management.

• Facilitate effective communication with Operation Team, Financial Analysts, external investment partners, and third-party property managers.

• Examine monthly property reports prepared by third-party property managers for compliance with US GAAP and identify any issues with property operations.

• Supervise and provide coaching to Senior Accountants.

• Research accounting issues to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.

• Generate reports for upper management as required and serve as a liaison to external auditors for year-end financial statement audits.

• Collaborate with other members of the accounting and tax team and other departments.

• Monitor and review accounts regularly for possible fraudulent activity.

• Carry out additional duties as delegated by management.

Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably as a manager or supervisor.

• Proficiency in all aspects of accounting functions.

• Demonstrated experience with accounts payable (AP) processes.

• Experience with accounts receivable (AR) management.

• Proven abilities in conducting internal and external auditing.

• Familiarity with billing functions and procedures.

• Knowledge of commercial real estate investment and commercial real estate practices.

• Experience in corporate real estate management.

• Proficiency in using Yardi property management software.

• Proficiency in using Yardi Voyager, or equivalent property management software.
