Description Vermillion Elementary is seeking a Library Media Specialist for the 2025-26 school year.

Candidates should be appropriately licensed or eligible for a Provision Library Media license by

August 1, 2025.

A Day In The Life

Work with students Kindergarten through Fourth Grade to instill a love of reading.

Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the

students.

Develop lesson plans.

Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.

Employ a variety of instructional techniques, technology, and instructional media,

consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and

capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.

Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports

as required.

Continually assess the needs of students and refer to the appropriate building level

individual(s) when learning concerns have been identified.

Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment,

materials, and facilities.

Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes

when required or requested at mutually agreeable times.

Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for paraprofessionals and volunteer(s), and

provide feedback to the building principal as to their performances.

Work cooperatively with staff on various tasks and/or assignments.

Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.

Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

Work cooperatively with other staff members in similar positions to design curriculum.

Demonstrate the ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning

experiences.
