JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The School of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking to fill an inaugural Excellence in Mentoring position. This position is designed to recruit outstanding faculty who, in addition to their demonstrated excellence or strong potential in research and teaching, have demonstrated ability and commitment to mentor first-generation and/or underrepresented undergraduate or graduate students to help them achieve academic success. Candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with student success and advising offices, the Office of Health Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and School of Nursing leadership to promote implementation of best practices for mentoring nursing students. Candidates will have the potential to network with other Excellence in Mentoring Initiative faculty hired in schools and colleges across campus. Candidates who conduct research and generate new knowledge in the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply: Key Priority: * Educational innovation and/or student mentorship Additional areas for consideration include School of Nursing research signature areas and priorities: * Aging and care of older adults * Maternal/child health * Health equity * Health systems or public health * Informatics/data science/artificial intelligence * Mental health and/or substance use * Symptom science and/or palliative care Successful candidates will teach courses aligned with their expertise in undergraduate or graduate programs. Service to the school, university, and profession, and meaningful contributions to creating inclusive excellence are expectations of all tenure track faculty.
