American Family Insurance - Corporate Senior Cybersecurity Engineer in Madison, Wisconsin

This role is a ServiceNow Security Engineer/Developer position focused on enhancing the security posture of the organization through the ServiceNow platform. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security solutions within ServiceNow, including the Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, and Threat Intelligence modules. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Cybersecurity, you will work cross-functionally to integrate security operations, configuration management, and vulnerability management processes into the ServiceNow environment. Your expertise in programming and system administration will contribute to the development of automated workflows and the configuration of security tools, ensuring robust security practices and compliance with governance standards.

Position Compensation Range:

$95,000.00 - $161,000.00

Primary Accountabilities

  • Design and implement integrated security solutions within the ServiceNow platform, focusing on SecOps modules such as Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, and Threat Intelligence.

  • Conduct and review security and risk-related analysis activities, ensuring adherence to security analysis standards.

  • Write and maintain policies and standards with governance experience, contributing to the establishment of data gathering, calculations, reporting, and quality analysis activities.

  • Oversee analysis processes and standards for business and system requirements, including access controls, and coordinate formal reporting.

  • Plan and execute compliance audits, including risk assessment, audit scope, and testing processes/controls, while developing specific recommendations.

  • Coordinate the analysis of existing security issues and incidents, ensuring alignment with risk management strategy and standards.

  • Monitor legal and regulatory non-compliance as part of the divisional risk management process and develop remediation recommendations.

  • Improve documentation and tracking mechanisms, coordinate improvement efforts, and monitor the effectiveness of process improvements.

  • Guide and advise stakeholders to ensure compliance with issue and incident management processes.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver customer-centric solutions, support, or service within the ServiceNow ecosystem.

  • ServiceNow System Administrator certification required.

  • In-depth knowledge of ServiceNow's Security Operations, including Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, and Threat Intelligence modules.

  • Proven experience with SIEM tool integration and the ability to enhance ServiceNow SecOps with these systems.

  • Proficient in JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Python, and other ServiceNow scripting technologies.

  • A solid understanding of IT risk and control frameworks, with the ability to conduct and report on IT risk and control assessments within ServiceNow.

  • Proficiency in developing and implementing security operations processes and integrations on the ServiceNow platform.

  • ServiceNow System Administrator certification is a must-have, showcasing expertise in maintaining and configuring ServiceNow instances.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience on SecOps modules Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, and Threat Intelligence.

  • Experience with common SIEM tools and integrating ServiceNow SecOps with these tools.

  • Demonstrated programming skills in JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Python, and other ServiceNow scripting technologies.

  • 5+ years of experience as an analyst, engineer or cybersecurity professional.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining multiple ServiceNow instances.

  • ServiceNow System Administrator certification required.

Additional Certifications (Beneficial but Not Required):

  • Possession of the Certified Implementation Specialist - Security Incident Response

  • Certified Implementation Specialist - Vulnerability Response
