THE SALVATION ARMY - DANE COUNTY Resident Services Coordinator in MADISON, Wisconsin

The Resident Services Coordinator coordinates counseling and spiritual support for the clients of The Salvation Army of Dane County programs, assuring each individual and/or families in our programs has access to needed spiritual care. About the role: Identifies pastoral counseling needs, and makes referrals to Salvation Army officers, for counseling needs of shelter and housing residents (during hours of sheltering) and social services, community center, and administrative staff. Coordinates and promotes Bible studies throughout the week for the residents in the housing and shelter programs. Attends and participates in the Sunday worship services and encourages client attendance. Facilitates staff devotional times on a regular basis for the shelter, community center, and administrative staff. Connects families and individuals who are exiting Salvation Army programming with their home church, The Salvation Army corps, or another church in the community. Plans outreach activities and events for individuals in the shelter and housing programs. Makes regular visits to shelter and housing residents and or staff as they participate in local programming. Holds regular life-skills workshops for shelter residents. Supervises volunteers assigned for program support. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Two years of experience providing similar service to clients in a social services setting. Or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
