Robert Half is in search of a Payroll Administrator to join a construction company in Madison, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be expected to process weekly payroll for both union and non-union employees in a job cost/construction environment, maintain accurate records, and respond to payroll-related inquiries. This is a permanent position that requires a meticulous and highly organized individual.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all aspects of weekly payroll processing

• Ensure accuracy of all government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholding and employer contributions

• Process voluntary and involuntary deductions such as taxes, levies and garnishments

• Maintain and support employee insurance and benefit enrollment in the payroll system and with benefit providers

• Prepare certified payrolls and other job specific documentation

• Prepare Union reporting and union auditing activities; provide information and documentation when required

• Track employee leave time

• Employee On-boarding/Off-Boarding

Requirements

• Ideally a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Administrator or a similar role

• Associate Degree in Accounting/Finance or HR, or related work experience desired.

• Construction or Job Cost experience a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills is essential

• Dependable and able to maintain confidential information
