JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Department of Radiology, UW-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a hard-working, self-motivated MRI Technologist with a positive attitude towards advancing science and technology. Responsibilities include performing daily research and standard of care clinical MRI examinations; managing data for MRI research projects; educating, training and supervising researchers on the operations of the MRI scanners and techniques; preparing daily billing invoices for MRI research; and participating in ACR accreditation procedures. Responsibilities: Instrumentation Technologist I (RE004) Instrumentation Technologist II (RE051) Tasks: Performs daily research and clinical standard of care MRI scans ensuring safe and effective use of the MRI systems; maintaining compliance with the human and animal subject protocols and HIPAA guidelines Maintaining records of daily scanner usage for billing purposes Manage data for MRI research projects, including archiving images; transferring, storing, and distributing images and data to users; shipping images to off-site data-collection and processing centers for multi-center trials Responsible for the daily research and clinical standard of care scans on the PET/MR system, ensuring safe and effective use of this equipment, while working in the presence of radioactive tracers Prepare daily billing invoices for MRI research and provide them to the Program Manager for compiling of monthly invoices. Assist Program Manager with monthly reconciliation Participate in the ACR accreditation at WIMR and the renewal process. Maintains site compliance by scanning weekly MRI phantoms, completing QC forms, and updating the ACR binder as needed Educate, train, and supervise researchers (faculty, fellows, residents, graduate students, and staff) on the operations of the MRI scanners and MRI techniques in accordance with safety and HIPPA guidelines Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison.
