Position Overview The Lead Clinical Laboratory Technical Specialist will provide leadership services with the technical specialist team, and within the clinical laboratory areas. This role will perform all functions of a Clinical Laboratory Technical Specialist while mentoring and supporting Clinical Laboratory Technical Specialist team members. The Lead Clinical Laboratory Technical Specialist will ensure timely turnaround for the various tasks the technical specialist team is assigned to. This position will work directly with Supervisor, Clinical Laboratory Specialist to act proactively to anticipate and resolve issues related to efficiencies in throughput, staffing, and laboratory processes and elevate any noted issues to affected stakeholders. Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following: Perform laboratory processes without direct supervision. Use routine and specialized automated and non-automated laboratory procedures and techniques after training and competency assessments. Lead the planning, writing, and executing of various laboratory procedures, work instructions, verifications, and validations relating to laboratory tests, workflow, instrumentation, and sample handling and transportation. Represent the Technical Specialist team on cross-functional projects/initiatives. Identify key stakeholders amongst the clinical lab support teams and ensure their needs are accounted for with new projects and changes to laboratory processes. Coordinate with Technical Specialists, lab team, and other departments to ensure consistent lab health and instrument performance as it relates to sample and result handling, workflow, and turnaround time. Serve as immediate source of troubleshooting support to the technical laboratory teams and assist technical laboratory leadership in determining sources, solutions, and corrective actions for errors and issues.
