JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Human Resources (HR) Director for the Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) at UW-Madison is a key leader overseeing strategic human resources functions for a full-spectrum facilities management organization that is responsible for building, maintaining, and operating the campus physical environment. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HR policies, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and university regulations. The HR Director leads a team of HR professionals in executing a wide range of strategic human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, staff development, performance management, compensation, policy development, and employment relations, to meet the division\'s staffing needs. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of human resources best practices, and the ability to drive organizational change and foster a positive workplace culture. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to enhancing the overall employee experience at FP&M. Reporting to the Deputy Associate Vice Chancellor for FP&M, the HR Director advises managers and supervisors on HR policies and procedures for various staff categories. The role involves partnering with leadership on strategic initiatives and evaluating their impact on FP&M departments and the division overall. The HR Director also maintains a strong partnership with the campus Office of Human Resources and UW-Madison\'s Chief Human Resources Officer to ensure alignment with both FP&M initiatives and campus human resources strategies and direction. Finally, this position works closely with UW-Madison\'s Administrative Services Unit to ensure a seamless delivery of those human resources functions that are delivered through a shared services model.
