JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Child Development Lab (CDL) is a relationship-based program that values and prioritizes the development of caring, trusting, and respectful relationships with young children and their families. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will play a key role in fostering a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for children, working closely with children, families, college students, and researchers. This role requires collaboration with other CDL staff to support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of each child. This position requires a proactive and physically engaged approach to caregiving and teaching, ensuring a dynamic and responsive learning environment for children and college students. This position requires the ability to sit on floor and get up and down with ease; run, jump and climb hills and step stools; reach overhead to retrieve items on shelves above shoulder level; to lift at least 35 pounds and carry this weight across a classroom; engage in vigorous outdoor and large motor play for at least 45 minutes; push/pull at least four children in a stroller, wagon and evacuation crib; walk up and down stairs; move/push classroom furniture as needed; perform physical tasks within a time frame commensurate with needs of fast-paced classroom. This position also requires active participation in outdoor activities with the children daily in all types of weather. Some nights and weekends may be required for staff to attend professional development trainings and or other CDL community-wide events. Responsibilities: Prepares classroom lessons, facilitates classroom programs, and assesses student progress to ensure safety and foster an environment of learning and development in accordance with established curriculum.
