Role Snapshot

As an integral member of the Marketing Communications leadership team, the Director of Content Strategy & Communications will be responsible for the strategy and development of a wide variety of content targeted to both internal and external audiences. This person will work with the senior leadership team, including the CEO, to develop platforms, produce communications, and help prepare leaders for keynote speeches, panel interviews, and other speaking events. This person with work collaboratively with the Director of Marketing on the planning and execution of key marketing deliverables while providing thought leadership and best practices. The ideal candidate demonstrates creativity, initiative, adaptability, and the ability to quickly learn the business and operate within a complex and dynamic environment.

How do I know this opportunity is right for me?

  • Content Creation: Spearhead the development and supervision of diverse internal communications content, including internally focused news stories, video concepts and scripts, leadership calls and presentations, white papers, online/digital content, organizational updates, and employee-focused communications. Ensure that each communication aligns with our editorial guidelines, amplifies our key initiatives and narratives, and engages, informs, and inspires our workforce and upholds WPS’s mission and values.

  • Strategic Communications Planning: Lead and collaborate with internal team to craft, manage, and execute strategic communication plans, aligning them with WPS’s organizational objectives and enhancing audience understanding, awareness, engagement, and impact.

  • Stakeholder Relationship Management: Serve as an internal communication liaison with assigned internal stakeholders and senior leaders. Key areas of focus include, but are not limited to, driving impactful communications around promoting internally and externally WPS’s Employer Brand initiatives, and amplifying key initiatives and outcomes of targeted businesses organizations and functions, along with managing collaborations with key internal partners to facilitate effective communication campaigns.

  • Enhancing Employee Engagement: Proactively identify and implement initiatives to bolster employee engagement and morale, including the development of innovative and timely communications programs aligned with our policies and culture.

  • Multimedia Content Production: Produce compelling content across various mediums, including employee newsletters, the intranet, and corporate videos, to maintain a consistent and engaging narrative.

  • Communication Analytics: Monitor and evaluate the impact of internal communication strategies, utilizing analytics to refine and optimize our approaches, and work with external agencies to monitor brand mentions.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to craft and disseminate strategic communications

  • Consistency in Communication: Guarantee the consistency of messaging, editorial guidelines, and content across all platforms, collaborating with key internal stakeholders and other resources to reinforce WPS’s brand and messaging integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, English, or a related field Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience

  • 7+ years of experience in digital content development

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Experience with communication tools

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Results-oriented and attentive to detail

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years in internal communications or related areas, reflecting our emphasis on seasoned professionals who can lead and inspire through effective communication strategies.

  • 10 + years in a communications leadership role is vital, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex projects and lead teams effectively, resonating with our culture of inspirational leadership.

  • Skills in change management and employee engagement are crucial, reflecting our focus on fostering a positive and dynamic work environment.

  • Proficient in project planning, analyzing data to foster quick decision-making, MS-Office, and an understanding of communication trends that aligns with our commitment to operational excellence and staying ahead in our field.

  • Strong interpersonal skills are a must for building relationships. Technical proficiency in communication technologies is key, supporting our drive for innovation and efficiency in all internal communication efforts

Salary Range

$140,000-170,000

The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
