Compounding Lab Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

The Compounding Pharmacy Technician is responsible for lab functions that may include formula and compounding record preparation, and compounding and labeling a variety of non-sterile compounded medications. All duties are performed efficiently and accurately under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The Compounding Pharmacy Technician demonstrates a commitment to the mission of the Pharmacy and the goals of the Organization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable pharmacy rules and regulations.

  • Follow all policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrate strong comprehension of USP 795.

  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of pharmacy software.

  • Enter new compounds into dispensing pharmacy software.

  • Prioritize and prepare formula and compound records.

  • Compound medications accurately and efficiently.

  • File necessary paperwork.

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties.

  • Pull outdated medications for destruction.

  • Maintain compliance with Company and HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to: performing inventories and ordering, assisting in finding, stopping, expediting specific orders, and project work.

Qualification Requirements (Must have 1 out of the 3)

  • 1+ year of laboratory experience

  • 1+ year of pharmacy technician experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, etc.)

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The dress code requires wearing scrubs which will be provided. The role requires standing at a lab bench for the entire shift. The company offers a supportive team environment with opportunities for training and advancement. Employees get access to Pharmacy Letter, APC, and select team members can earn the PTCB Certification. The team environment is very supportive, fostering a fun workplace with a low turnover rate, reflecting a positive company culture. Additionally, employees receive two 15-minute paid breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $22.00/hr.
