American Family Insurance - Corporate Compliance Manager (Life Insurance) (Flex Home/Office) in Madison, Wisconsin

Leads a team or multiple teams that are responsible for the execution of the oversight programs for a business area. Manages departmental projects for adherence to process control, document and record control, as well as internal controls and compliance with company policies, procedures and practices. Collaborates with leadership to verify changes to claim handling practices, procedures and system changes will comply with compliance guidelines. Coordinates market conduct surveys, claim handling and legal discovery process for the division to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Position Compensation Range:

$95,000.00 - $161,000.00

Primary Accountabilities

• Creates a collaborative, performance-driven work environment by facilitating and fostering trust, transparency, and inclusion. Works with team members to set clear goals, provide feedback, perform performance assessments, and support on-going development.

• Leads with influence and expertise. Actively contributes to division or department leadership team. Communicates and supports organization mission, vision, values, policies, and practices.

• Monitors all enacted legislation, regulatory actions and impactful court decisions to ensure ongoing compliance with changes. Communicates potential changes with the various affected business units.

• Identifies industry compliance trends; develop strategic and tactical plans to respond to changing regulatory environment.

• Assesses regulatory risks, and determines the adequacy of existing policies, procedures, training and objectives. Recommend changes to the appropriate business unit and/or leadership team.

• Coordinates across business functions for regulatory examinations and audits.

• Works closely with the various departments providing guidance on all compliance matters including interpretation of laws, regulations and policy language.

• Develops best practices for managing Market Conduct examinations findings and responses.

•Coordinates policy development, due diligence and assists with new state expansion implementation.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service.

• Demonstrated effective management or leadership experience.

• Solid knowledge and understanding of insurance, legal or regulatory environment.

• Demonstrated experience in compliance, audit or related field.
