JOB REQUIREMENTS: The City of Madison is seeking a strong and collaborative leader to direct the strategic, operational, and financial functions of the Community Development Authority (CDA). The successful applicant will have the opportunity to participate in the strategic repositioning and redevelopment of the CDA\'s housing portfolio, and to contribute to housing creation in a rapidly growing city committed to providing affordable housing and housing choices to all. The CDA is a division of the Department of Planning & Community & Economic Development Department (DPCED) and encompasses management, administration, and modernization of a federally subsidized Housing Choice Voucher Program, a Public Housing Program, a Redevelopment Authority, and a diverse and growing real estate portfolio. As head of the CDA Housing Operations Division, the Director will be responsible for managing housing programs, implementing policy, developing and managing the budget, program compliance and reporting, managing staff and ensuring service excellence, and real estate development activities. This position will serve as Deputy Director of the CDA, and work with a high degree of independence under the leadership of the Director of DPCED/CDA Executive Director, and may have a direct reporting relationship to the Mayor or their designee. Employment will be subject to a five (5) year employment contract negotiated by the Mayor and approved by the Common Council and a term of the contract requires residency in the City of Madison. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Five (5) years of responsible, federally assisted housing experience (including directly related housing program administration, housing development, and/or housing management) with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in this capacity.
