MEAD & HUNT INC CAD Technician in MADISON, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for a highly motivated Computer Aided Design (CAD) Professional to join our collaborative and innovative Aviation Engineering team at either our Middleton, WI or Minneapolis, MN office location. Responsibilities will include supporting the production of technical graphics, plan sheets, maps, and visual information necessary for planning, engineering, and other relevant projects. This position will collaborate closely with energetic team members to help develop clear and concise materials that communicate various project and design components. Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD is essential. Typical projects and tasks include but are not limited to: developing construction plan sets and details, airport layout plans, airspace obstruction analysis, property maps, planning graphics, alternatives analysis, phasing plans, runway and taxiway layouts, terminal plans, plus assisting civil engineers with various tasks when needed. The position will require management and analysis of datasets and producing graphics that communicate this data. The position will also require coordination with third party survey data to support projects and material being produced in AutoCAD/Civil3D. The candidate will continue to stay current on the latest AutoCAD technologies, tools, and methodologies relevant to the position; effectively communicating this to peers within the organization. This position offers the potential for growth within the organization, and opportunities for client interaction and representation at industry events. The successful candidate must have one of the following: An associate or bachelor\'s degree in civil engineering or related field and 2 years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD software OR If no degree, must have at least 4 years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD software The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following: Strong initiative and a positive attitude Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Organization and being task-oriented, with attention to detail and follow through Ability to work effectively with peers to resolve issues and implement change Proficiency in cartographic principles, map design, and visualization techniques Experience collecting and managing geospatial data Demonstration of computer-based skills: Microsoft Suite (Windows, Outlook, Excel), and other organizational software. Experience with business development activities (presentations, proposal preparation, regular meetings with clients) Experience and working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D design software.
